While the Guitar Festival is held biennially, with the next festival scheduled for 2020, there are still plenty of opportunities for you to enjoy guitar music with the Special Edition and other events in 2019.

Excitingly, for any budding guitarists, there is the chance to attend The Adelaide Guitar Festival Winter School. Participants of all ages are encouraged to sign-up for an intensive, guitar playing and skills course with acclaimed national and international guitar teachers.

As well as the Winter School, the Guitar Festival Special Edition will run over the 15^th – 19^th July with a host of intimate concerts curated bySlava Grigoryan.

The program, a supplement to the popular festival, will also see open-access events such as Guitars in Bar, Resonance (where guitarists travel to health, well-being and recovery homes and institutions to play for people who are otherwise unable to go to venues) and the Adelaide International Classical Guitar Festival, a prestigious competition with $32,000 worth of prizes.

So, while we can’t wait for the Guitar Festival to return in full for 2020, we are delighted that there’s so much on offer in 2019. Play on!
